Veeva incorporates an unlimited PTO policy much like other tech companies in the Bay Area. However this policy is misleading as requested time off is often regulated by the manager to 2-3 weeks and any unused PTO is lost that calendar year. Basically you use it or lose it. And if your manager is an authoritarian, you can forget about using your remaining ‘unlimited’ time as the year ends. Employees often joked about our ‘limited’ unlimited PTO. Unlimited PTO at Veeva benefits the company who doesn’t track the PTO rather than the employee using it.
They currently do not have a pto policy and advertise to prospective candidates that's unlimited pto, however the steps you must take to get time off is ridiculous and you are scorned for taking more than a week at a time and no more than 10 days a year will be approved by the management unless of course you are the management then you can have as much as you want. They can even reject others pto request while they're on PTO.
It's allegedly "unlimited," but it's really contained to 15 days (both vacation and sick leave) a year. So, nothing really special.
Meh. Just the standard 10 working days.
It's unlimited PTO, with supervisor permission.
