How's the vacation policy at Veeva Systems?

It's allegedly "unlimited," but it's really contained to 15 days (both vacation and sick leave) a year. So, nothing really special.
They currently do not have a pto policy and advertise to prospective candidates that's unlimited pto, however the steps you must take to get time off is ridiculous and you are scorned for taking more than a week at a time and no more than 10 days a year will be approved by the management unless of course you are the management then you can have as much as you want. They can even reject others pto request while they're on PTO.
Meh. Just the standard 10 working days.
What needs to change to make the company culture better at Veeva Systems?

HR isn't there to help employees. They are there to protect the company.
Veeva needs to modernize and let engineers decide what we're working on, and how.
Please keep an eye out on middle tier managers (and their managers who support them) who bully your employees.

Stop playing politics and improve the quality of the product. Middle managers don't encourage positive feedback to employees.
We have the very worst codebase I have ever seen. Let's stop adding to the tech debt.
How many women are in your team? is it diverse enough?

1. No, not diverse at all. Hiring at Veeva fixates on "new grads" from certain universities, so there's no real commitment to diversity in any form.
2. And, no, it isn't.
It got more diverse. Performance has gone even lower and competent employees should leave.

Old-fashioned hierarchy--lots of middle management--dressed like a startup. Informal dress code. Very little employee autonomy; preference for hiring "new grads."

That there's an informal stack ranking in place, and one might be hired so that a manager has somebody convenient to blame and fire in time for his performance review.
