Ameritas executives are absolutely tone deaf. They pay minimal salaries, they expect maximum work hours, and they offer substandard benefits compared to other employers in the area. I would not recommend the company to any prospective employees.

My team supports itself. They are wonderful, hard working, conscientious people.

They are all very dedicated professionals with a good work ethic and are all highly skilled in their respective fields.
What makes you most happy at work?
Sadly, not much. I feel fortunate to have a job in these difficult economic times, but that's about it.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Nearly everything. Offering competitive salaries, communicating with associates, and ditching the Fortune 500 attitude and corporate policies would be a good start.
What did you like most about the interview process?
It was a very deliberate process and was handled expeditiously. I've had 5 month interview processes for other jobs, this one took three weeks.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The company gaslights its employees. It tells them that work life balance is important and that they are valued and will be compensated accordingly. None of this is true in practice. 60 hour work weeks are the norm, salaries are artificially deflated, and recognition is non-existant.
