Out of 38 Ameritas Life Insurance employee reviews, 53% were positive. The remaining 47% were constructive reviews with the goal of helping Ameritas Life Insurance improve their work culture.
approachable, down to earth, culturally aligned with the organization, willing to be challenged and also willing to accept mistakes and pivot
Executive team does not engage with workforce. Company structure is very top down.
It's all about the bottom line. You are just a number there.
Understanding their employees needs and work/life balance.
Nearly everything. Offering competitive salaries, communicating with associates, and ditching the Fortune 500 attitude and corporate policies would be a good start.
complete, solid benefits, incentive opportunities have been underwhelming but are improving
It's normal for a boss to take all the credit for your work. Not a great environment.
Pay on level playing field.
Pay raises have always been 1-3% annually. Company recently engaged a professional services organization to evaluate job descriptions which equated to re-leveling of pay bands. Result did not result in any increases but did end up taking several salaried positions and turning them into hourly.
The company gaslights its employees. It tells them that work life balance is important and that they are valued and will be compensated accordingly. None of this is true in practice. 60 hour work weeks are the norm, salaries are artificially deflated, and recognition is non-existant.
genuinely enjoy working together, have each others backs
The best thing about my team is that everyone is willing to help when you have a question or need assistance.
Cooperation across the various departments has continually improved over the past 15 years. However there are issues with the lack of cooperation across the company business units which has resulted in inefficiencies and costs.
They are all very dedicated professionals with a good work ethic and are all highly skilled in their respective fields.
Meeting upon meeting with usually no purpose for everyone invited. Only a few people may be needed in a meeting but they'll load it up with a dozen then wonder why it takes so long to get anything done.
Put intelligent managers in olace
Our direction and future we are building is brighter than where we are today.
The people all care about each other...
My team supports itself. They are wonderful, hard working, conscientious people.
Leadership needs to be changed.
It's too late, moral is at an all-time low
Opportunity to interview with my co-workers.
It was a very deliberate process and was handled expeditiously. I've had 5 month interview processes for other jobs, this one took three weeks.
Limit number of interviews. 3+ is way too many.
contributing effectively, having an impact
Opportunity to learn and contribute to the overall corporate objectives.
Sadly, not much. I feel fortunate to have a job in these difficult economic times, but that's about it.
Customer service and products need to improve
Better top down communications.
Less politics
