Used to love it: When I would come to work every day and feel challenged. I love helping folks (employees, co-workers, and customers) have their day ending better than it started. I used to love knowing what the goals were. Now I feel like we're taking it one-day at a time as if we're in recovery.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Work on proactive actions versus constantly reactive.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone's smart and cares for each other's well being.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Can't really answer as I don't believe there is a culture.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Need to get customers paid. Need to have external and internal excitement about the future. Need to stop feeling like we're employed to be band-aids to the product.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
To receive at least one wage increase since 2019. To be in the median salary range for my position. To have others in the company be in the median salary range for their positions.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We know each other's strength and weaknesses - know when to step-in and help or advocate for one another. There's no sense of fear that we're stepping on each other's toes. Having a bad day? Totally fine, someone can help you out.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Listen to others. Set aside time to learn and appreciate people's experience, history, and existing knowledge. Don't just go with the norm because it's what has been done in the past. Don't be afraid to ruffle feathers knowing it's for the better in the future.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Having some sort of review or goal setting meeting of any type. Knowing what potential paths are available to me in the future. Having some sort of raise or acknowledgement / appreciation that I haven't received one in over three years for the better of the company.
