They hire excellent workers and then use the "churn and burn" technique to extract as much use out of them before they become disillusioned and quit. The attrition rate is through the roof. Store management is toxic and cliquish and perpetuate an "us against them" mentality.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The part-timers willingness to help each other is the most positive aspect of working at the company.
What did you like most about the interview process?
Was able to see the store on a very busy day which helped me to visualize what the work environment would be like.
What makes you most happy at work?
Knowing that I've helped a customer find exactly the solution that they were looking for to fill their needs, and seeing the excitement on their face because of it.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
$15/hour for everyone (part-timers) across the board regardless of what they do. This is one of the best decisions the company has made with regards to remuneration for it's workers.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Break up the management team. Transfer the most dysfunctional members out. Bring in properly qualified leaders. Stop promoting from within when there are no suitable candidates. Ultimately the toxicity affects productivity and the stores's bottom line.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Because the work environment can be stressful and toxic my teammates and I go out of our way to support one another and minimize work day stressors. We use humor and a strong work ethic to counteract management's inability or unwillingness to support some of us during the busiest times in the store.
