Executive team is not really doing a good job to retain good engineers and lately I have seen few rules which is disappointing more than 50% of the employees. I will start with an example again, the company came up with the wfh policy but this was subject to the manager's decretion. Non-engineering teams were not allowed to avail this policy though on paper the policy is for the whole organisation. The employee had to bear 10% salary cut for availing wfh.

Just go back to the way you were working a year ago. There are a lot of employees who are leaving and the reason is that Chegg is not been able to compensate employees properly. Some of the decisions like forcing people to come back to office etc etc

Stop putting as much advertising on all products. Start developing new features instead of doing site redesigns. Start incorporating video: gather clips from students, have streaming lessons, etc.

Tops down leadership, lack of investment and belief that a product is a worthwhile function, lack of psychological safety for communicating concerns, lack of autonomy in deciding what we work on or how it's done. Suggestion is to remove top leaders in LS who embody that dysfunction.

Avoid making the easy things hard. Operate as one chegg. Stop assuming that we all know whats going on with everyone. Instead of replying with "thats just the way it is", leadership should take the feedback a bit more serious.

This company has a very top down approach. There is almost never a brainstorming session. Work comes to you from your manager - the nature and output is predecided. There is very little room to be a thought partner. Managers do the presenting, even when they didn't contribute to the work.

Just listen to suggestion of root level employees. Only the changes what managers feel are done, and even claimed to be justified. I along with my team members raise the time rates were unjustified. They did not hear. But now they changed it and accepted that past rates were impractical.
