I loved having a lot of flexibility and self-direction, plus working directly with any level employee. I also liked the responsibility level.

They were great for the most part. Those who were difficult were, I feel, fighting to keep their particular business models viable; that's always an issue in any company. But generally skilled and excellent people.

In the Communications area, you'd likely be asked about how you achieve consensus, be quizzed about your communication skill sets, your ability to work with all different levels of employees, etc. Pretty standard as far as Communications interviews go.

In Communications, it's tough. It's a dynamic, challenging business, so you'd be putting in long hours on an as-needed basis. That doesn't mean it isn't flexible; it can be. But all-hands-on-deck occurred at least every couple of months for me, resulting in 12 to 16 hour days, sometimes all nighters.
