Financial compensation compared to peers at Newsela and within the Edtech industry is a bit low. I do feel valued, though.

The leadership team is approachable and communicate changes well. This leads me to believe that they are doing what's best for the company and that I can trust their general approach.

I am most happy to see new initiatives get off the ground and new products in the hands of customers. It brings me joy to know that we contributed to increased engagement in the classroom.

Coworkers are productive while also taking opportunity to get know one another. I'm glad to work at a place that has this balance without being overly personal in a way that could lead people to feel uncomfortable.

The leadership team is consistent in how the work to improve outcomes toward our goals. The lead their directors to think about people, process, and product. This allows me to see our teams thrive and I personally feel like I'm contributing well while also growing professionally.

The best part is the base salary and stock options. Unlimited PTO is also a great perk. Our benefits are also constantly updated with new perks and deals researched heavily by one of the best people team members we have. She got us new mediation, exercise, and health insurance perks as times change.
