Leadership Reviews

Across multiple managers, in multiple roles, in multiple departments, my managers have always cared about me as a human being, just as much as they've cared about my success in the role(s). It's refreshing to work for a company that encourages such a holistic approach to employee management.

Leadership is approachable and take the time to tak with employees

I believe they want what is best for Sweetwater and thereby the employees. I think there is a passion for what we do and who we are. That passion for the business expands to the people who work for the business.

Very proactive with communication. Everyone knows the direction we head and why. The team is inspiring and great mentors to many.

Cooperative, flexible, understandable, problem solver,

Leadership Reviews

I am eager to grow in the company, and have no understanding of what steps I can take to be considered for advancement. I asked and was told to constantly remind them of what I need, but I see others that started after me get promoted. Inclusivity would be greatly appreciated and deserved.

listening to employees, and constantly changing directions. people are stressed and there is no sense that there is a direction.

We don't all have a chance at advancement unless you know the right people. Positions don't get posted for us to appoly, but somehow promotions and vacancies are fill simutaneously. Sweetwater is sweet to the customers, but not so sweet to the employees.

Consider yearly raises larger than 40 cents. Allow us to work from home when we're sick to not encourage - no, require people to come into the office and spread sickness when we all work in cubicles near 4-10 other people all day long.

There are constant changes that benifit the company and not the employee. Structural changes need to be mode give and take, and not just take.

Compensation Reviews

It is in line with my iob

I appreciate the the accrual for PTO increases year over year at a quick rate.

Vacation days and the overall health benefits

fairly good based on the company policy

We are seeing annual reviews and pay adjustments. While many of my friends are seeing large increases in benefits, our have stayed virtually flat the past several years.

Compensation Reviews

I don't know that I necessarily feel undervalued at Sweetwater. I think I am valued, as a person, but I think Sweetwater is notorious for underpaying employees.

Compensation could be better, but it is fair.

I have been with the company a little over a year and have consistently demonstrated dedication, strong performance, and commitment to my role. However, I have notices that others who joined after me have been promoted, and I was told it was because I didnt constantly remind them.

I feel like I do a lot of things that are outside of my role because they are the right thing to do, but it isn't always acknowledged. I am not miserable but I think I offer a lot.

Management gaslights about industry compensations vs other industries. Size and scope of work are not taken into consideration. There needs to be a realignment with what inustries are paying for the same job title and scope of work. promotions and advancement is lacking.

Team Reviews

The people! The team I'm currently on is easily the most cohesive I've ever been a part of, professionally.

My feam is collaborative and cares for each othet and our internal customers

My team is fun and works hard

hard workers, and everyone is focused on "doing the right thing" all the time.

ready to help, friendly, flexible

Team Reviews

Ive notices some dynamics that make collaboration feel a bit less open and inclusive. There are constant rolling of eyes at me, passive aggression, and cliques that exclude those with melanin.

Most of the teamt that was recruited by Jordan Bridges have no sense of team. Their is a lack of unity that keeps us from being at the level we were at before.

We work well together as things are now.

There is a severe lack of privacy among the workspace. Additionally, as a non-musician working at a music company, I often feel left out (I guess that might be my own fault)

Environment Reviews

As stated before, the people! Additionally, Sweetwater being an audio retailer, aligns with my passion for music & audio.

Hard working and on mission together to serve customers

I appreciate the level of professionalism amongst the employee population. If think this leads to a positive and healthy work environment.

Again, everyone is very hard working and for the most part, self policing. Managers really don't need to micro-manage.

working together, diversity , and positive people

Environment Reviews

Not culture, but I would encourage Sweetwater to continue looking at time off policy. Overall the benefits package is solid, but that is an opportunity for improvement. The culture is solid. I would say that while we say we communicate well, there are pockets within the company where that's not true

Mentorship and equal opportunity for women

Response from Sweetwater

While there is still more work to do, we're making positive strides. Across Sweetwater, we hired 346 females last year. 75 females earned promotions. We have numerous females in VP and higher positions. Keep adding your voice! - Jeff Ostermann, CPO

Listen to employees. There is one set of rules for managers and a different set for the rest of us. Senior managers are all conservative white men. There is no diversity, no representation, no encouragement or promotions for women or minorities.

Response from Sweetwater

I'm sad to hear your view on this. 75 females earned promotions last year. We have numerous females and people of color in management and higher-level positions. We keep working hard in this area and won't let up. - Jeff Ostermann, CPO

Interviews Reviews

Open to questions and my schedule - I wasn't able to start the job at the time they wanted me to and they were immediately flexible. Great first impression. They were welcoming and very straightforward with every test/role play

Timely Feedback and Positive Conversations

HR team was really nice and helpful. From the interview through the relocation and onboarding, they made the transition easy.

The time invested with me.

Great communication from the HR team. They were also very friendly and helpful in explaining how everything worked.

Outlook Reviews

Making a real, tangible difference in people's lives through my work. Being able to align people with a life-changing opportunity, through a new career in an awesome company, is an absolute blessing.

Caring for our customers and working with others who have the same goal

The people at Sweetwater are top notch. The culture fosters human connection and I appreciate that everyone is open and friendly.

The positive energy and always having a fresh new challenge daily.

Quality of work and able to solve the issues so that my leads are happy

Outlook Reviews

I do not feel valued or feel like I have a long term future here.

Management doesn't listen and have poor leadership skills. Watching people fail yet get promoted while those that do the job perfect get stuck cause they are good is depressing. I don't get regular one-on-ones, so there is no developing happening to help me grow.

Sales is favored above all, regardless of how much other departments contribute to customer retention. Sales is able to get vendor perks, free merchandise, contests and giveaways while tech support exists so they don't have to put any work in beyond making the money.

The stress and workload are too great. I and several of my coworkers have ended up in the hospital due to stress.

No paid breaks. To far to park
