  • What is the current state of the debt markets as it pertains to the Hotel market. If you were going to finance an asset that has unstable cash flows, what kind of loan would you take?

  • Have the right skill-set they are looking for - especially for the more analytical positions in Capital Markets, REIB, Hotels, etc. Financial Modeling (Real Estate), know the markets, make sure your resume answers the question "Why Real Estate" before they ask you in an interview. If you need to boost your analytical skills - consider online real estate coursework, financial modeling bootcamps like breaking into wall street, or an M.S. in Real Estate (Finance) at a school like NYU, Cornell, Columbia, MIT, Georgetown, etc.
