In addition, he gained leadership experience from five large-scale M&A transactions. He served as the President of BioTherapeutics Research & Development at Pfizer Inc. from October 2009 to May 2010 and served as its Senior Vice President from May 2010 to December 2010. Prior to joining Boehringer Ingelheim in 2003, Dr. Dolsten was responsible for integrating several areas of AstraZeneca Discovery post-merger. He also served as Global Vice President/Head of Cardiovascular/Metabolic & Gastrointestinal Discovery at AstraZeneca. Dr. Dolsten has spent approximately seventeen years in the pharmaceutical Industry. He has been Chairman, Translational Advisory Board of Apple Tree Partners since 2016. Dr. Dolsten has been an Independent Director at Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc. since March 31, 2015. He serves as a Member of Translational Advisory Board at Apple Tree Partners. He serves as a Member of MDL Scientific Advisory Board at Elsevier B.V. He served as a Director of Receptos, Inc. Dr. Jansen was the scientific leader of the team that successfully developed Merck's Phase III human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine candidate to prevent genital warts and cervical cancer. Additionally, she was responsible for several bacterial vaccine programs at Merck. Dr. Jansen also headed the clinical assay laboratory responsible for the development and validation of new assays and for the clinical testing of all existing Merck accines and vaccine candidates. Dr. Jansen joined Merck in 1992 as a research fellow and advanced through a series of positions with increasing responsibility. Prior to Merck, she served from 1989 to 1992 as a research scientist at the Glaxo Institute for Molecular Biology, where she studied the structure and function of a low affinity receptor for IgE (CD23). Prior to her career in industry, Dr. Jansen held research positions at Cornell University and Institut fur Mikrobiologie, Marburg, Germany.
