There are reasonable expectations from my supervisor and colleagues who are always supportive of setting boundaries with employees outside our office. My team is ok with making changes that improve our processes and policies.

Our leaders are well qualified and experienced, but not pretentious or elitist (which is somewhat common in higher education). They often talk about how they worked up to their leadership positions and emphasize that other employees can also advance in their careers.

Frankly, the salary is much higher than most places I've worked (3 other colleges/universities). I feel I'm finally appropriately compensated for the expertise I bring and the work that I do. Past jobs had better health insurance, but much lower salaries, and the health plans here are fine.

I'm part of a team where my expertise and experience is appreciate and respected, but I'm not expected to accomplish everything alone or have all of the answers. I feel good about the level of support and direction I have, and also feel like I can approach my work in my own way.

We are truly a team and support each other. We share the work and always willing to help or coach one another. For the most part, colleagues take full responsibility for their work - we don't push off work on to others. We can take sick days or vacation because we provide backup for each other.
