
Depends on what you mean by succeeding. Some managers say you have to take part in community meetings (which is basically spending your free- or family time at work), others will tell you you need to show some serious management skills to even be considered a team leader. They actually want you do do your job, only faster. Succeeding is not among anyone's interests.
