I wish i could tell a new hire to just relax and take time to ramp up! However, due to the nature of startup work, the learning process needs to be pretty quick in order to get comfortable with the job and the company's pace. I would recommend the new hires to clearly understand the big picture of what the company does and how/where your job fits within the big picture. When you understand how your work impacts the company's progress, it will tremendously help both your growth and the company's success. In doing so, I recommend to ask as many questions as possible and not make assumptions when in doubt.
