Being paid market value as a baseline with additional compensation based on the span of responsibility and value brought to the role.
An absolute horrible place to work
In such a competitive industry, especially in the Motor City - engineers talk. I'm making at least 10-15% less than engineers in the same role, who usually have less stress, workload and responsibility. The management line when this is discussed is "we know, but we can't do anything about it."
managing expectations of new hire employees
My experience has been okay. It's not the greatest company to work for but there are worse places you could be. The leadership is lacking, along with compensation, but the benefits and people make it bearable. Great opportunity to expand your skill set, since the company runs extremely lean.
