this was in 2015, but it was a face to face interview with not just the manager but also other leaders in the group. (still in COVID restrictions right now)
First Citizens' greatest strength in terms of employment here is their culture. Strong culture. Family friendly, work-life balance is great, lots of support for balancing life-work here at headquarters (Raleigh). Associates are helpful, supportive, and genuinely nice.
To know I am very good at what I do, I support the department-- so if I can be a strong Value Ad to the group that makes me very happy. Their success is my success. They make me feel like I am a vital part of the team.
the bank stays very competitive to the industry, PTO is 4+ weeks starting out plus all the federal holidays, AND 1 full day paid for volunteering, and 2 days of school function time for my kiddos. 401k matching is great as well. And bank just started a reimbursement program for wellness costs.
as I type we are still in COVID restrictions, but even though my dept.'s workload has changed a lot during this time, the dept. is just shifting to process improvement, planning for future etc. My department does a good amount of collaborating. Sounds too good to be true, but this a good company.
My manager is brand new to managing, but she is extremely talented and I am learning a lot from her; she seems genuinely interested in serving her associates under her. My co-workers are very experienced, pleasant to work with. No one is perfect; but we have a good time in our team meetings.
