Ask FAR in advance and don't expect to get a "Yes" especially during any holiday and not just the major ones, which you shouldn't even think about asking for them off!!!

Vacation days you get are improving although there is no carry over from year to year which is a problem if you don’t take it all by years end.

Base vacation time is decent with additional days for major bank and federal holidays. Sick / occasional absence time is also available on top of this.
