
I worked in software engineering. For me it was 15 Paid Time Off (PTO) days per year, accrued at 1.25 days/month. If I needed to go to the dentist or something though, I could just communicate to the team that I'd be in late and no one would force me to use PTO. My team was also pretty open about working from home, so if you needed to take care of stuff around the house you could do that, and save your PTO for the real holidays.
15 days of vacation and sick leave combined each year, up to you how you want to use it. On paper, sick days is only 3. There are also 10 holidays (New Year’s, etc). You can accumulate up to 240 hours/30 days, otherwise you will stop earning leaves until you use your days. Very little vacation days compared to most companies in Bay Area.
