I love my job. Its a fun and exciting environment. The paperwork is minimal and not tedious. I have a flexible schedule and a supportive management team. Some of the company procedures seem ridiculous, but nothing that is difficult to complete.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Laid back atmosphere. Big focus on pop culture and current trends as well. Very retro and alternative customer base.
What makes you most happy at work?
Customer service. I love helping our guests find exactly what they are looking for and being knowledgable about our products.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The other members of management are great. We have good store focus and maintain good sales numbers. We accentuate each other well, bringing out each others strengths.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I had an in person interview with the store manager and a phone interview with the district manager. It was very laid back, but asked some thought provoking questions.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I make $9.75 as a member of management, sales supervisor. I can make almost the same as a cashier at a fast food place 2 miles up the road. It is not a full time position, only 24 hours a week. Except during the holidays. Due to that it is very hard to hold a second job year round.
