Ive been with Vokal for almost 4 years. I've grown from a level 1 QA engineer to being a QA Manager. I've been encouraged and empowered to learn, grow, and teach with my peers and have had many impactful experiences that I'll never forget.
What did you like most about the interview process?
Most of the interview process felt just like a casual conversation of getting to know someone. Very low stress.
What makes you most happy at work?
Seeing ideas I had influence with come into fruition in an app. Surprising clients and end-users with creative and innovative experiences in their products.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Salary is excellent when compared to industry standard in Chicago. I've also received more than fair raises periodically through my almost 4 years at Vokal.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Unlimited PTO and option to work from home. Happy hours every Friday in the office. Monthly tech talks. Awesome view from office of Chicago river.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My co-workers are my equals and are my friends. We talk openly and respectfully to one another whether we are working on a project together or chatting at one of our Friday night Happy Hours.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Everything is a collaboration and there are no secrets. Everyone's opinion matters. Since the day I started at Vokal I was frequently encouraged to speak up; what works and what doesn't and how can we continue to improve as individuals and as a company.
