The list of Best Company Cultures, part of Comparably’s 6th Annual Best Places to Work series, represents the overall top-rated companies of 2022 according to those who know best – employees. Tens of thousands of companies were anonymously rated on Comparably.com by current workers in nearly 20 different workplace metrics, from compensation, work-life balance, and leadership to career growth and perks and benefits. The final ranked list is based on millions of employee ratings over the past year, and segmented by the Top 100 Large companies (more than 500 employees) and the Top 100 Small/Mid-size companies (500 or less employees). Methodology
- Comparably’s 6th annual Best Company Culture list is based solely on ratings provided by current employees who anonymously rated their companies on Comparably.com over a 12-month period (Nov. 27, 2021 through Nov. 29, 2022). The final data set was compiled from 15 million ratings across 70,000 companies large and small.
- Rankings were determined based on feedback to a series of questions in nearly 20 core culture metrics, from compensation (salary, bonus, raises) and career growth (opportunities, mentorship, goals) to leadership (CEO, executives, direct managers) and work environment (work-life balance, perks & benefits, coworkers) in yes/no, true/false, 1-10 scale, and multiple-choice format. The answer to each question was given a numerical score and then compared to companies of similar size.
- To qualify, Large companies (more than 500 employees) must have met a minimum of 75 employee participants and Small/Mid-Size companies (500 or fewer employees) must have met a minimum of 25 employee participants. Additional weight was given to companies with more participation from their employee base, relative to their company size, for statistical significance.
- There were no fees or costs associated with participating, nor was nomination required.
