It’s become commonplace for people to talk about how bored they are at work, but it’s not as prevalent a problem as you may think.
Just 9% of workers say they are bored more than 50% of the time, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. On the flip side, 56% of people say they are bored 10% of the time or less, with most of those respondents bored 5% or less of the time.

Gender breakdown
Men and women shared nearly identical responses, again ranking “5% or less” as their most popular answer.

The most bored workers
People in design jobs at tech companies were most bored at work — 28% of them said they were bored 10-25% of the time.

The latest reading is as of Nov. 22. More than 10,000 people across the tech industry participated in the survey.
