Organizations around the world use Esri’s geospatial technology to promote sustainable solutions to the climate crisis. ArcGIS connects data and analysis to provide a holistic picture of current and future climate-related hazards. These insights inform new climate action solutions that will protect people and places. Dynamic maps enriched with accurate data reveal patterns, trends, and relationships that help leaders address risks from climate-related events such as flooding, drought, wildfire, extreme heat, and biodiversity loss.

Here at Sage, we have established three key priorities aimed at helping us achieve our objectives towards protecting the planet and fighting climate change. These priorities are: 1. Getting Sage to Net-Zero by 2040. Our first course of action toward this is to have our emissions reduced by half by 2030 and then fully achieve Net-Zero by 2040 using the Net-Zero standard. This standard ensures we are pushing for absolute reductions restricting us from using too many offsets. 2. Our second priority is to get our SMBs to Net-Zero as well. As the financial and accounting trusted advisor to millions of small and medium-sized businesses, we believe we have a responsibility to support our customers to do their own carbon accounting and ease their journey to achieving Net-Zero. This is why we acquired Spherics, now rebranded to Sage Earth, a Bristol-based start-up in the UK whose carbon accounting solutions help businesses to easily understand, track and reduce their environmental impact. SMBs are often part of the scope three emissions of large suppliers. And unfortunately, with the current standards, reporting requirements and regulations, small business face huge barriers to achieving Net-Zero. So, what we want to do is make sure we are breaking down those barriers for our customers enabling them to keep trading while still reducing their carbon footprint. 3. This leads us into our third priority which is to create an enabling policy and regulatory environment to Net-Zero. As mentioned above, some of the requirements in place to achieving Net-Zero may end up excluding small medium businesses from, for example, supply chains or access to capital. And it is our mission that they do not get left behind.

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to thrive. But in today’s world, not everyone is given an equal chance. Barriers including discrimination, poverty and unequal access to education, technology, and data, stack the odds against marginalised communities and under-represented groups. We know that in many of these areas, Sage can make a real difference – our Sustainability and Society strategy focuses on the areas where we can make the biggest difference in knocking these barriers down. Our strategy is built on three key pillars underpinned by strong ESG fundamentals: Protect the Planet, Tech for Good and Fuel for Good – and underpinned by Sustainability by Design. We care deeply about changing the world, so we set ambitious goals and are transparent about how we progress against them.

Serving the power generation, refinery, water/wastewater and midstream oil and gas markets, we are a key part of helping meet the global demand for environmental and equipment protection through our highly engineered emissions management, product recovery, and water and gas separation solutions. We also serve the broad industrial air pollution control, beverage can, fluid handling, electric vehicle production, food and beverage, semi-conductor, process filtration, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, wastewater treatment, wood manufacturing, desalination and aquaculture markets. Our solutions protect the air we collectively breathe, maintain clean and safe operations for employees, lower energy consumption and minimize waste for customers, and ensure they meet regulatory compliance standards for toxic emissions, fumes, volatile organic compounds, and odors. In fact, CECO Environmental has installed more than 32,000 air pollution control systems with the capability to eliminate more than 4.4 billion pounds of pollutants per year, equivalent to removing more than 50 million passenger vehicles from the road, and our solutions and products reduce or eliminate harmful pollutants, including CO, VOCs, NOx, HAPs, acid gases and particulate matter.
