What impact do you see/feel this makes in your organization?
GE Vernova’s Disabilities Advocacy Network (DAN) provides resources and support for people with disabilities, their families, and allies. DAN also raises awareness and promotes colleagues with disabilities or those who care for a loved one. DAN holds regular meetings to highlight issues with disability rights, services, or awareness. With nearly 2,000 members, DAN raises awareness and fosters a sense of inclusion in our communities through events, education, and advocacy efforts.

How do you support your employees with disabilities?

How do you support your employees with disabilities?
We actively foster an inclusive environment through our global employee resource group, AccessAbility@BCG. This group is committed to building a supportive community for individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and their caregivers. We offer peer mentorship, tailored career support, and a variety of resources that address needs ranging from physical disability to neurodiversity. Additionally, we partner with leading organizations such as The Valuable 500, Business Disability Forum, and Disability:IN to promote disability inclusion. We’ve also upgraded our physical and digital environments, working with our global IT group to enhance accessibility through assistive software and regular training sessions on using accessibility features in tools like Zoom and Miro. Furthermore, our Global Inclusive Office Design Guidelines ensure that all new and renovated BCG offices meet higher accessibility standards than local codes require.

The initiatives spearheaded by AccessAbility@BCG have profoundly enriched our company culture and operational effectiveness. Our commitment to inclusivity is demonstrated by the robust growth of our network, now encompassing over 1,400 members across 50 countries, and by receiving a perfect score on the Disability Equality Index in 2023. This benchmark reflects our ongoing efforts to build a roadmap for measurable, tangible actions toward achieving disability inclusion and equality. Through events like the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and various awareness campaigns, we actively work to dismantle biases and promote understanding across the firm. These efforts have helped create a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered, leading to happier, more motivated employees.

How do you support your employees with disabilities?
Through our RX Enabled committee, which consists of People with Disabilities and allies, we are working towards a global strategy and vision to advance our disability inclusion goals. Our strategy includes increasing disability awareness within RX and promoting the committee’s ‘Help Us to Help You’ campaign, which aims to provide the tools and support requirements identified through consultations with employees on policies and practices related to disability inclusion. We also partner and learn from the amazing network of Enabled committees within the RELX network, sharing tools, tips and knowledge and are currently completing the Business Disability Forum’s ‘Disability Smart Framework’ internal assessment, to help us scale and focus on improvements. Our global network of All-In Employee Resource Groups includes disability representation, with a focus on supporting Employees with Disabilities and helping to pilot initiatives e.g. the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative.

In addition, being a disability-inclusive organization attracts new talent and increased diversity within our workforce, bringing a wealth of experiences that we can learn from to meet the needs of our customers better, and knowledge sharing to ensure our events are accessible and inclusive to all participants, including those with both visible and hidden disabilities.

How do you support your employees with disabilities?
At RingCentral, accessibility is a top priority woven into everything we do, from our product design to internal support for disabled employees. Our product features such as screen reader support, voice-to-text, and closed captioning ensure it is accessible for both customers and employees. Our Help and Understanding Group Support (HUGS) ERG fosters an inclusive environment for disabled and neurodivergent employees. Additionally, our newly established accessibility committee is dedicated to addressing concerns and setting goals for continuous improvement.
What impact do you see/feel this makes in your organization?
Our commitment to supporting disabled employees has significantly benefited our organization. We have increased HUGS ERG membership by 27%, allowing more disabled voices to be heard and included in our accessibility meetings regarding our product. This has led to greater engagement and innovation within our workforce for the disability community. This innovation, in turn, helps us diversify our customer base, which is crucial to our business.

Vertafore strongly supports equal employment opportunity for all people. As part of Vertafore’s internal DEI council, inclusivity is a top priority from work environment to leadership and management training. This creates an inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued. It has a positive impact on employee morale, company culture, and how we show up for each other every day.
What impact do you see/feel this makes in your organization?
Most recently, an employee launched Able@Vertafore, an employee resource group with a mission to connect people of differing abilities to inspire harmony, empowerment, and accessibility. This group brings Vertafore employees together to discuss items such as assistive technology, new resources, and upcoming events and gatherings. Through ERGs and inclusive leadership training, Vertafore strives to continually foster a supportive environment where employees can bring their full selves to work.
