What does a veteran of the military offer to your company as a potential new employee?
Veterans possess skills and traits often emphasized because of their experience and training in the military such as loyalty, adaptability, teamwork, integrity, and a strong work ethic. Catalent has witnessed Veterans displaying high productivity and ability to perform under pressure and cross-collaborate, especially when it means putting our patients first in all we do and when the decisions matter the most. Not only are Veterans loyal to their company and teams, but they are also loyal to the mission, and for Catalent that is paramount as we develop, manufacture and supply products that help people live better, healthier lives. In the constant evolution within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and consumer health areas, having more advanced exposure to high technology is an important asset that Veterans often showcase and can transfer to new and emerging technologies.
What are some of the ways your company recruits and develops veterans?
From Catalent’s SERVE (employee resource group representing Veterans, active members, first responders, families, and supporters) members, to our talent team, and our leadership, Catalent recognizes the importance of candidate experience and is committed to providing a meaningful forum and resources that encourage the recruitment and hiring of Veterans and others who serve. Members work to increase camaraderie through networking, enhance morale and retention by engaging and providing career development opportunities, create a forum for open discussions on relevant issues, and demonstrate their investment in the community through their involvement with Veteran organizations. Serving as advocates and advisers to the talent acquisition team, SERVE members assist with bolstering presence externally at Veteran-specific hiring events. Additionally, to showcase job opportunities more broadly, the talent acquisition team distributes job postings to Veteran-specific job boards at a local level and facilitates internal training to highlight Veteran transferrable skills.

What does a veteran of the military offer to your company as a potential new employee?
Working with Government and military customers, most of our contracts require specialized skill sets related to military aircraft. These skills are learned and mastered by active duty mechanics and technicians. When they retire or leave the military, they can bring those talents and unique skill sets to PKL to continue to support the military as a civilian and help us provide the best possible support to our military.
What are some of the ways your company recruits and develops veterans?
Many of our employees come to PKL immediately after leaving the military. They may be familiar with us and the active contracts we have at their previous base locations and come to us looking for opportunities after leaving the military. We also have a full time recruiter and multiple program managers, who are veterans themselves, and who actively search for and recruit veterans based on their military background and aircraft experience. We rely heavily on a network well connected to the military and veteran organizations to maintain those relationships and reputation.
