Our health benefits reflect our dedication to providing our team members with the coverage they need, tailored to themselves and their families. Whether that’s HMO access or PPO plans where they select the provider they want, we have options to fit individual needs. As a healthcare provider, our commitment is to continue to improve the coverage our team members and their families have access to, be it HSA funds to cover DispatchHealth visits for themselves, or fertility benefits to help them grow their families continue to expand and evolve over time.

Have health benefits changed or become more important to employees in recent years?

In the past year, we’ve invested more heavily in employer-paid insurance premiums so that with our base plan we are able to offer a $0 cost premium for health, dental, and vision plans for team members and their families. We’ve added an HSA employer contribution for employees who select a high deductible health insurance plan so they start with a nest egg to help offset out-of-pocket healthcare costs. Team members are able to use this HSA money to pay for four DispatchHealth visits and/or combine it with other healthcare needs throughout the year. Fertility benefits have become increasingly important to team members. As a result, we’ve added a $30K lifetime fertility benefit for our team members. Finally, we’ve added a list of preventative prescription medications that are covered at 100% for our high deductible plan members.

Have health benefits changed or become more important to employees in recent years?

Over the past couple of years, wellness has become a key focus of our benefits strategy. Last year, we launched a wellness portal to help support employees with work commitments and personal life challenges. This platform focused on financial wellness, emotional strength, and physical wellbeing. Last year we also surveyed our employees to understand what benefits they valued and what benefits they wanted improved. As a result of some of that feedback, we enhanced our dental plan, significantly improved our disability program, introduced paid parental leave for new mothers and fathers, and launched a comprehensive financial planning platform.

In addition to the broad range of benefits we provide, we offer a number of ancillary benefits that augment the government and veteran-provided services of our employees. We would agree that, in recent years, we’ve seen a larger demand for these ancillary services and we continue to benchmark and conduct employee surveys to poll our employees to best understand what is valuable to them and continue to provide the best overall benefits package.
