At Beacon Hill, StandOut and Fierce are two of the most active Employee Resource Networks. StandOut’s subcommittees focus on philanthropy, Pride Month, corporate equality and allyship, continuously bringing new ideas and drive. This year, they launched a successful weekly newsletter during Pride Month. Fierce, with over 100 members, excels in engaging its community through dynamic discussions on topics like imposter syndrome and career advancement, making it a vital network in our company.

Beacon Hill’s Employee Resource Networks have profoundly impacted our company culture. StandOut fosters belonging, advocacy and diverse perspectives, promoting an inclusive environment. Their companywide initiatives highlight LGBTQ+ community needs and advancements. Fierce drives professional development and innovation, supporting personal and team growth, offering a platform to achieve professional goals and enhancing team retention.

What are some of the most active employee resource groups you currently have?

Synopsys has seven thriving ERGs with chapters spanning 20+ countries. From WIN (Women Impact Network, our first ERG) to PRIDE (supporting our LGBTQ+ community), all our ERGs serve underrepresented or underrecognized communities. Each ERG provides a space where members and allies can come together, share ideas, and create a more inclusive Synopsys. Other ERGs include HOLA! our Latinx group, VIBE, the Very Inclusive Black Employees, NEX-GEN, supporting young leaders, CAPE, connecting Caregivers and Parents, and SYNG, celebrating neurodiversity in the workplace.

What is the impact these groups have on your culture?

Synopsys’ ERGs are the heart of our company’s inclusion and diversity work. Employee-founded and led, each of our ERGs provide opportunities for community members and their allies to come together for support, learning, and collaborative impact. Our ERGs host internal learning sessions, build local and global networks, and volunteer their time to support our greater industry and communities. Our ERGs support our culture of collaboration and caring, where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued – which many employees cite as the reason they stay at Synopsys.

What are some of the most active employee resource groups you currently have?

Our top three employee resource groups (ERGs) by size and engagement are Black Leaders Advancing Culture and Knowledge (BLACK), Women and Paycom Respect Inclusion Diversity and Equality (PRIDE) ERG.

What is the impact these groups have on your culture?

These groups impact their own cultures by spotlighting members within the group to share their own unique stories of heritage, experience and traditions. Storytelling and sharing lived experiences allow our Paycom employees insight to other communities they may not be familiar with. These insights allow us all to connect and build bridges of trust and understanding.

What are some of the most active employee resource groups you currently have?

Vertafore has seven employee resource groups (ERGs), with some of our most active being Queertafore, Black@Vertafore, and NEXT Early in Career. Meeting monthly, these ERGs are deeply ingrained in Vertafore’s company culture. Outside of the monthly meetings they lead events—like volunteering at the company’s booth on Juneteenth—and organize gatherings to discuss new books, movies or current news. Our ERGs also make time to design and give informative presentations to other groups or teams throughout Vertafore.

Our ERGs are places to build community, give and receive support and allyship, and learn and grow together.

What is the impact these groups have on your culture?

By embracing diverse ERG programs, we don’t just create a more vibrant and innovative workplace—we build a culture where everyone feels seen, heard, and respected. This helps foster a more inclusive work environment, allowing employees to feel like they can bring their whole selves to work.

This energy extends beyond our internal teams, benefiting customers and partners who gain from the unique insights that only an inclusive team can provide. What are some of the most active employee resource groups you currently have?

We have 9 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that all actively engage over 1100 HashiCorp employees globally. These groups represent employees who identify as and/or identify as allies of the following communities: Black/African American, Multiracial/Multicultural, people with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, Veterans, LGBTQ+, Latinx/Hispanic, young professionals, and women. These ERGs have influenced several inclusive practices that have been integrated into every aspect of our business, hosted over 75+ events focussing on the personal and professional development of our employees, have built camaraderie through our online Slack communities, and so much more.

What is the impact these groups have on your culture?

Our Employee Resource Groups have had an immense impact on our culture. They help us to foster an inclusive culture where employees are inspired to do their best work, encourage employees to embrace differences and welcome people of all identities and abilities. Our ERGs have also assisted in creating a culture where everyone’s voice matters and where everyone can feel valued, seen, respected, and heard.

What are some of the most active employee resource groups you currently have?

RX has grown from 1 ERG in 2019 to 13 active ERGs in 2024, located in 7 different countries across the globe. Our Women Connected ERGs in France and the US focus on gender equity, Pride in the US represents members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community, and also located in the US is our African Ancestry Network. Our recent 2024 launches include a Generations ERG in Korea and our Disability ERG in France. In Brazil, Mexico and UK, All-In ERGs each support multiple diversity dimensions and intersectionality, and RX is also an active member of the RELX-wide Menopause ERG and RELX Pacific ERGs. Each year our ERGs outline their areas of focus and throughout the year organize events and initiatives for members and allies to raise awareness, network and support employees by championing an inclusive workplace. Our ERGs are also proactive in building relationships and partnerships within their local communities and with external organizations, as well as consulting with our event teams on how to ensure our events are inclusive for our diverse audiences.

What is the impact these groups have on your culture?

Our ERGs are critical in ensuring an inclusive environment for our people, where everyone feels valued, included and empowered to succeed. They are key to sharing perspectives and insights, supporting employees and for championing the relevant initiatives and strategies of our five global diversity committees (Pride, Race & Ethnicity, Disability, Gender Equality and APAC DiveRXsity) in their local offices. Formed of 220 volunteers in our local markets our ERGs, global committees and I&D Champions have a real impact in fostering an inclusive workplace at a grassroots level, which is why RX has regularly been awarded Comparably’s Best Place to Work accolades for Global Culture, Women and Diversity.

What are some of the most active employee resource groups you currently have?  

Two of Textron Systems’ most active employee resource groups are the Women’s Network and the Young Professionals Association (YPA). The Women’s Network aims to foster a supportive environment for the women who work at the company and has held numerous events such as sponsoring Textron Systems’ Society of Women Engineers (SWE) scholarship and making chemo-care-kits to donate to local chemotherapy centers. The Young Professionals Association allows young professionals to come together to grow both professionally and personally together, giving employees the opportunity to create not just professional relationships, but also personal friendships amongst their colleagues.

What is the impact these groups have on your culture?

Employee Resource Groups have a positive impact on company culture as they bring employees together based on similar experiences and interests. These groups provide a safe and inclusive space for those who may otherwise feel excluded and allow employees to connect with likeminded individuals. Fostering these connections strengthens employee’s connectedness to the company and helps maintain high retention rates and employee satisfaction.

Vista has 4 recognized ERGs, each with a mission, executive sponsors, leaders, and active members:

The Women at Work (W@W) ERG are dedicated to promoting equality in the workplace by building a supportive community for women and allies to network, grow and develop through programs of enrichment, advocacy, and outreach.

The Pride ERG works to collectively celebrate and elevate Vista’s global LGBTQIA+ team members.

The Mental Health Alliance ERG provides a safe community with healthy boundaries to promote well-being and emphasize the importance of de-stigmatizing mental health in the workplace.

The Military Veteran and Families ERG builds awareness about the global contributions and impact of current military service members and veterans as well as providing a supportive community for them.

What is the impact these groups have on your culture?

ERGs are essential in fostering a sense of community and belonging within Vista’s remote-first culture. By offering a blend of virtual events, live social gatherings, and both synchronous and asynchronous discussions, the ERGs help bridge connections among our global team members, ensuring everyone feels included and valued.
