3 Out of 4 Tech Workers Say Having Fun at Work Is Important to Company Success

Seventy-four percent of tech workers say having fun at work is important to their company’s success, with half of them stressing that it’s “extremely” important.

That’s according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. More than 1,000 workers across the technology industry participated in the query.

The value of fun can’t be underestimated

From an employee perspective, having fun at work is essential. “Important” and “very important” were the most popular answers by far, followed next by those who were neutral on the subject (17%). The least popular answers were “slightly important” and “not important” (5% and 3%, respectively).

Importance diminishes with age

While workers of every age rank fun as important, it’s the youngest workers who say it’s “extremely important.” Among workers 18 to 35, the top answer was “extremely important;” among workers 36 and up, the top answer was “important.”
