Thirty-nine percent of people who work in the communications department at tech companies say they have dated a co-worker, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. More than 10,000 people across the tech sector participated in the query.
Comms had the highest rate; engineering had the lowest
Of all of the departments surveyed, communications had the highest rate (39%), followed next by those in executive roles, operations and sales (all 38%). The lowest rates were reported by those in engineering (31%).

Men vs. women overall
Thirty-five percent of respondents overall said they had dated a coworker while at the same company. The rates were just slightly different between men and women: 34% men and 36% women.

People 36 to 40 had the highest rates
From an age perspective, there were no great differences in the rate of people who say they have dated a coworker. That said, 37% percent of people aged 36 to 40 said they had dated a coworker while at the same company (37%), the highest rate of any age group. People 35 and younger had the lowest rates (34%).
