One in two African Americans say they have been subject to racism in the workplace, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably.
Tech vs. Non-tech
Fifty-two percent of African Americans in the tech industry and 54% of African Americans in industries outside of tech responded “yes” when asked if they’d ever experienced racism at work.

Workers age 40 and up appeared to experience more racist treatment than younger workers, with the peak among those age 66 and up (32%).
Cities where this is the most prevalent
Workers in Dallas, Atlanta and Houston reported the highest rates of experiencing racism at work, while workers in Salt Lake City, Boston and Denver reported the lowest rates.
