If you were to quit your job tomorrow, what would be the reason? For nearly 40% of people, feeling underpaid or unappreciated would be it, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. The query garnered nearly 33,000 responses from employees across the tech world.
The value of feeling appreciated

Feeling underpaid or unappreciated was the No. 1 reason people say they would hypothetically quit their jobs tomorrow, followed next by a lack of career advancement. Negative work environment and company instability were the next reasons, followed last by difficult coworkers.
Men vs. women
Men and women ranked each option in the same order, though men cited lack of career advancement more frequently than women.
The one exception
Workers in all departments — from engineering to legal to business development — ranked “underpaid or unappreciated” as the No. 1 answer, except for one: people who work in product chose “lack of career advancement” as the main reason they would quit.
The results are as of March. 15.
