All over the country, companies are being asked to increase their diversity and lead with transparency. And with Silicon Valley tech companies such as Google and Facebook leading the charge, it’s no surprise that employers in San Francisco were ranked No. 1 for encouraging open discussion of workplace issues related to gender and diversity.
Sixty-nine percent of people surveyed in San Francisco say their employers encourage open discussion of topics related to gender and diversity, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. More than 5,000 people, predominantly in tech, responded to the query.

An even split
Men and women were nearly even in their responses, with 64% and 61% saying they feel their employer encourages open discussion of these issues.

Workers across different ethnicities also had a similar perspective on their employers.

The latest reading is as of March 6.
