Most people aren’t toggling between their work and Facebook as much as you’d think — or so they say.
Eighty-three percent of workers in tech say they spend up to an hour using social media during the workday, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. In fact, 34% of people say they spend 15 minutes or less.
Of the 17% of workers who say they spend more than an hour on social media at work every day, 10% say they spend between 1 and 2 hours and 7% say they spend two hours or more.
Entry-level workers spend the most time on social media
While the most popular response among people of all experience levels was “15 minutes or less,” workers in entry-level jobs reported spending the most time on social media per day: 23% of them spend more than an hour a day (12% spend between 1 and 2 hours; 11% spend 2 hours or more).
Workers with over 10 years experience spent the least time on social media — 85% of them spent an hour or less a day.
