Catalent is the biopharma industry’s leading development, manufacturing, and supply partner for patient treatments across multiple modalities. With nearly 80 billion doses manufactured each year and more than 150 new products for customers launched in fiscal 2022 alone, our nearly 18,000-strong workforce shares a common goal: to put patients first and help people around the world live better and healthier lives. We deliver on our mission by operating within the framework of our values, defined by our corporate responsibility (CR) strategy. Supported by three pillars— people, environment, and communities—our CR strategy is embedded in our company-wide strategic plan and performance metrics and focuses on the areas most relevant to our business.
What is unique about your company’s CSR programs?
We recognize corporate responsibility as integral to our business strategy and share the sense of urgency to contribute to the long-term sustainability of the entire biopharma sector in collaboration with our customers and suppliers. By staying true to our values, our corporate responsibility programs enable us to deliver products to market with minimal environmental impact. We do this by improving operational efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, eliminating waste, and conserving water to contribute to the health of the planet—and the people and patients that live on it. We attract, inspire, and develop the best talent and support all our people to realize their full potential. We compete to hire the best, nurture a values-based and inclusive culture, and invest in curating an outstanding employee experience. Through philanthropic contributions, volunteerism, and partnerships, we focus our efforts on areas where we can make the greatest impact, including contributing to STEM education, serving patients, and helping respond to disasters. Our community ambassadors, green teams and employee resource groups are vital to the success of our CR programs and engagement. Positively reinforcing their CR commitments through recognition awards and annual Summits are unique to Catalent’s CR function. The passion and dedication that our people bring to our programs has led to a tremendous growth in participation and impact.

How does your company define corporate responsibility?
We fulfill our commitment to our employees, our patients, our partners, our investors and our community through a robust corporate social responsibility program. We demonstrate this through The Purpose Fund, the Hospice Promise Foundation, our partnerships with the American Red Cross and our projects with South Louisiana Community College.
What is unique about your company’s CSR programs?
The Purpose Fund is unique because it is part voluntary, employee-funded program. Grants from The Purpose Fund are made possible through the financial support of LHC Group and our employees, many of whom provide voluntary donations to support the fund. Our Hospice Promise Foundation is one of its kind as it assists patients and families with essential, non-hospice related expenses they are unable to afford themselves – such as rent and utility bills, emergency repairs, personal care items and food assistance, in addition to funding patient’s last wishes funding, burial assistance, and community projects.
