More than half of workers say they have a close friend at work, and those in human resources lead the pack, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably.
Sixty-one percent of workers in human resources reported having a work BFF, a quality that has been scientifically linked to better productivity and performance. HR workers were followed next by those on the executive team (59%), business development (57%) and communications (57%).

People in legal, IT and engineering were least likely to report having a best friend. Men in legal showed the lowest rate overall, with only 39% of them saying they had a best friend at work.

The overall average for men and women was 51% and 55%, respectively.
The results are as of May 16 and include responses from 10,000 workers in the tech industry. Check out the full breakdown here.
