November 19th is International Men’s Day

International Men’s Day is upon us. The yearly event, inaugurated in 1992, is celebrated in over 80 countries and is designed to focus on both broad humanitarian values as well as men’s impact on community, marriage, family, and child care.

This year’s theme is “Making a Difference for Men and Boys,” and as such it focuses on men and boys’ health and well-being. Considering that November 20th is recognized as Universal Children’s Day, this year we have, effectively, a 48 hour celebration and focus on ssues facing men and boys.

Previous years have had similar themes: “Positive Male Role Models” was the theme in 2018. 2017’s focus was “Celebrating Men and Boys in All Their Diversity.” And 2016’s International Men’s Day was themed around male life expectancy and ending male suicide.

Here at Comparably, we regularly focus on how the genders respond to different hot button workplace issues. In honor of International Men’s Day, here are a few of our published surveys that attempt to understand how the male mindset is fine-tuned.
