Madonna Bolano — Group VP & Head of Human Resources at Applied Materials

Ms. Madonna Bolano has been Group Vice President and Head of Human Resources at Applied Materials, Inc. since February 2014. Ms. Bolano was named Interim Head of Applied Materials' global Human Resources function in February 2014. Prior to this position, she served as head of Human Resources for the Silicon Systems Group (SSG), the Company's largest business group. Ms. Bolano and her team partner with the businesses to attract, develop and retain a talented, engaged, innovative and focused workforce that is optimally organized and operates effectively to drive competitive advantage. Under her leadership, she has worked with the SSG executive team to successfully close and integrate major acquisitions, reorganize the business, improve employee engagement and create and staff new organizations. Prior to joining the SSG organization in October 2009, Ms. Bolano led HR for the Display and SunFab Solar group. She re-joined Applied in July 2009 from SunPower Corporation, where she supported the Worldwide Operations organization and lead the HR Operations function. Prior to SunPower, Ms. Bolano held HR leadership positions for 15 years in the semiconductor equipment industry at Lam Research Corporation, Applied Materials and AG Associates (now part of Mattson Technology, Inc.). Ms. Bolano holds a bachelor of arts degree in sociology with highest honors from the University of California, Berkeley and is a certified senior professional in human resources.
