Laura Thompson — Senior Vice President of Finance at Affiliated Managers Group

Ms. Laura Thompson serves as Senior Vice President of Finance of Affiliated Managers Group, Inc. Prior to joining AMG in 2015, Ms. Thompson served as the Managing Director of International Tax Practice at KPMG LLP since August 22, 2012. She manages AMG's global corporate tax provision and compliance processes, global tax strategy and tax-related internal controls. She focuses on the financial services industry, with an emphasis on asset management and fund families in the Boston and New York areas. Ms. Thompson has close to 20 years of experience advising investment funds and asset managers on international tax issues such as tax efficient fund structuring, the taxation of cross-border investments, permanent establishment/trade or business planning and withholding tax and information reporting matters. She joined KPMG from Bain Capital, LP, where she served as Vice President of the General Partner Group. Prior to Bain, Ms. Thompson spent over a decade leading the international tax function at Wellington Management Group LLP. She received J.D., L.L.M. and M.A. from Boston University School of Law and B.A. from Oberlin College and is a Certified Public Accountant.
