Meekal Hashmi — Senior VP of Legal & Compliance and Senior Counsel at Affiliated Managers Group

Mr. Meekal Hashmi serves as Senior Vice President of Legal & Compliance and Senior Counsel at Affiliated Managers Group, Inc. Mr. Hashmi oversees Affiliated Managers's global regulatory and compliance team supporting the Affiliated Managers's global distribution offices in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Dubai, Hong Kong and Australia. He joined Affiliated Managers in 2015. He served as Legal Head for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Neuberger Berman Europe Limited and served as its General Counsel, EMEA and Latin America. He served as the Chief Legal officer and General Counsel at Old Mutual Global Investors (formerly Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) Limited). Mr. Hashmi joined Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) Limited in 2006 as a Senior Lawyer and served as its General Counsel since 2007. He served as General Counsel of Baring Asset Management Limited, where he advised on the legal aspects of a wide range of services undertaken by the Barings group companies. Mr. Hashmi joined Baring Asset Management in 2002 and worked there until 2006. He also worked at Citco. He served as Corporate Associate at Clifford Chance LLP. Mr. Hashmi began his legal career in 1995 as a Trainee Solicitor at Trowers & Hamlins. He served as Board Director at Neuberger Berman Europe Limited. He served as a Director of Old Mutual Global Statistical Arbitrage Fund Limited until January 25, 2012 and Old Mutual Managed Futures Fund until February 1, 2012. He is qualified as a Solicitor in 1997. Mr. Hashmi holds a Masters in International Finance & Banking Law (LLM) from the London School of Economics and a B. Sc in Psychology from Edinburgh University.
