I believe military pay needs a large cost of living increase to make it equatable with civilian jobs. Too many young families are on food stamps. The benefits that were promised prior to enlistment, are being slowly whittled away, i.e. health care, retirement, etc.

civilians are often treated as if they are military in regards to supervision tactics, and military officers most often promoted but civilians can work 20, 30 or more years with no eserving promotion, yet a 2 yr officer promoted just cuz the system expects it

hire fair managers, require fair and hunae treatment of employees, get rid of harassment and unfair practices, including subtly enforced contribution to senior mgrs. retirements transfers and such. treat civilians like civilians not military, and give civilians fair and equal chance to promotion.
