Mr. David R. Holland, also known as Dave, Co-Founded Alimera Sciences, Inc. in June 2003 and has been its Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing since August 2010. Mr. Holland has been Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Alimera Sciences Limited since August 2010. He served as Vice President of Marketing at Alimera Sciences Inc. from June 2003 to August 2010. He has eighteen years of experience in healthcare marketing, brand development and strategic marketing, fourteen of those in the ophthalmic market place, he served as Vice President of Marketing, Novartis Ophthalmics, from 1998 to 2003. From 1992 to 1995, he served as the Director of Marketing for CIBA Vision Ophthalmics. From 1989 to 1991, he served as New Products Manager for CIBA Vision. From 1985 to 1989, Mr. Holland served as a Brand Assistant and Assistant Brand Manager of Procter and Gamble. Since 1997, he served as Global Head of the Lens Business at CIBA Vision and since 1996, served as Global Head of the Lens Care Business of CIBA Vision. During his tenure with Novartis, he helped launch three key products into the market. After joining CIBA Vision Ophthalmics in 1992, he developed and lead R&D and launch teams for ten new OTC and prescription ophthalmic products. He also has international management experience having been responsible for the global launch of CIBA Vision's daily disposable contact lenses. He spent four years in the Procter and Gamble brand management program and was on the team that launched its first pharmaceutical product. He has served on the Corporate Advisory Council for Ocular Surgery News, the industry's leading publication. He has successfully launched and marketed retina, allergy, dry eye, anti-inflammatory & OTC products in the ophthalmic arena and managed $30 MM budgets in Marketing, Medical Marketing, Market Research, Brand Development and OTC Marketing. Mr. Holland holds a BA in Politics from Princeton University in 1985.
