Astro Teller — Head of Google X at Alphabet Inc

Dr. Astro Teller, PhD serves as Head of Google X Alphabet Inc. Dr. Astro is currently Captain of Moonshots (CEO) of X, Alphabet's moonshot factory. Dr. Teller heads Google X, a Google project aimed at developing technology including Google Glass, self-driving cars and airborne wind turbines. He serves as Advisor at Gradient Ventures. Dr. Teller was a Co-Founder of BodyMedia, Inc. in June 1999 and has been its Chief Research and Strategy Officer since January 03, 2007. Dr. Teller was a Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Sandbox Advanced Development. Before his tenure as a business executive, he taught at Stanford University and was an Engineer and Researcher for Phoenix Laser Technologies, Stanford's Center for Integrated Systems and The Carnegie Group Incorporated. Dr. Teller served as Chief Executive Officer of BodyMedia, Inc. from 1999 to January 03, 2007. He is a Co-Founder of Cerebellum Capital and previously served as its Chief Executive Officer. He is also a Co-Founder and Chairman of Zivio Technologies, an intellectual property holding company. He served as Chairman of BodyMedia, Inc. He serves as Director of Cerebellum Capital. Dr. Teller holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was a recipient of the Hertz Fellowship. He holds an MS in Symbolic and Heuristic Computation and Computer Science from 1988 to 1993 and a BS in Computer Science from The Leland Stanford Junior University from 1993 to 1998.
