Douglas M. Bell — President of Repwest Insurance Company at Amerco

Mr. Douglas M. Bell, also known as Doug, has been the President of Republic Western Insurance Company, Inc. (Alternate Name: Repwest Insurance Company) at AMERCO since February 2013. Mr. Bell is responsible for underwriting and design of the insurance products sold to U-Haul rental customers and dealers. In addition, he is responsible for managing the cost of risk for U-Haul including responsibility of all risk transfer to the insurance market. He served as Vice President of U-Haul Insurance Programs since 2002 and the Vice President of Underwriting since 2003 of Republic Western Insurance Company, Inc. Prior to 2002, he served as the Director of Marketing for Republic Western (2000). Prior to joining Republic Western, he has worked in the insurance industry for over 23 years in a number of roles including Director of Product Development and Marketing, Chief Financial Officer, Senior Manager Financial Services Group Coopers & Lybrand and Senior Financial Auditor. He was licensed as Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania in 1982. Mr. Bell received his Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Tennessee.
