Mr. Joseph Kissel, also known as Joe, has been the Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President at Ameris Bank since February 10, 2017. Mr. Kissel has been the Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President of Ameris Bancorp since July 2016. Mr. Kissel has more than 20 years of senior level experience of leading technology and operations in banks, mortgage companies and technology companies servicing the financial industry. Mr. Kissel served as the Chief Information Officer of BankUnited, Inc. since December 11, 2012. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Wells Fargo Bank in Phoenix, Ariz from April 2005 to November 2012. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Silvergate Bank from March 2003 to April 2005. He served as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of John Deere Credit from 2000 to April 2003. He served in various roles, including Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Operating Officer and President and he has managed teams of more than 650 employees and budgets of more than $100 million. Mr. Kissel earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Illinois and a B.A. in Computer Science from Western Illinois University.
