Nicole S. Stokes — Executive VP, CFO & Principal Accounting Officer at Ameris Bancorp

Ms. Nicole S. Stokes has been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Ameris Bancorp and Ameris Bank since January 1, 2018 and serves as its Principal Accounting Officer. Mr. Stokes has more than 20 years of financial and banking experience, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Controller for Ameris Bank. Prior to joining Bank, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President and Controller for Park Avenue Bank in Valdosta, Ga. Previous to that, she served as Senior Vice President and Controller for The Banc Corporation/The Bank in Birmingham, Ala. She also has worked at Synovus Financial Corporation and Behar, Reid, Green & Melton, CPAs where she served in various financial and accountant management roles. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Auburn University. She has completed additional courses in Advanced Accounting, Auditing and Governmental Accounting from Troy State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
