Executive Bio

Mr. Stephen J. Riney, also known as Steve, has been the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Apache Corporation since March 03, 2015 and February 18, 2015 respectively. Prior to joining Apache Corp., Mr. Riney served as Chief Financial Officer for BP Exploration and Production from July 2012 to January 2015 and oversaw all accounting, business development, planning and commercial operations for the upstream segment. Previously, he served as Global Head of mergers and acquisitions for BP plc from January 2007 to June 2012 and held several management positions in project finance, insurance, operations and planning. Mr. Riney served as Vice President of Finance in the Americas for BP since March 2005. From January 2004 to March 2005, he served as the Performance Unit Leader for BP's Marlin and Horn Mountain production facilities in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. From February 2001 to January 2004, he was Vice President of Planning for BP's global exploration and production business. Prior to the merger with BP, Mr. Riney spent nine years with Amoco in various management roles in finance, mergers and acquisitions, planning and marketing. He served as Director of Innovene Inc. Mr. Riney holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's degree in Business Administration from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
