Mr. John A. Ziegler, Jr. has been the Chief Commercial Officer of Arch Coal Inc. since March 4, 2014. Mr. Ziegler served as a Vice President of Human Resources at Arch Coal Inc. from April 1, 2012 to March 4, 2014 and also served as its Senior Director of compensation and Benefits since October 2011 until April 2012. Previously, Mr. Ziegler served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Administration at Arch Coal Sales Company Inc., a subsidiary of Arch Coal Inc. Mr. Ziegler served as the President of Arch Coal Sales of Sales and Marketing a subsidiary of Arch Coal Inc., since March 2007. Mr. Ziegler had the responsibility for contract administration and the day- to-day marketing of Arch's geographically diverse operations. He served as Vice President of Marketing Administration for Arch Coal Sales. Mr. Ziegler joined Arch Coal in 2002 as Director of Internal Audit. Prior to joining Arch Coal, Mr. Ziegler held various finance and accounting positions with bioMerieux and Ernst & Young. Mr. Ziegler earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Louis University in 1989. He is a Certified Public Accountant at AICPA.
