Mr. Paul A. Lang has been the President of Arch Coal Inc. since April 23, 2015 and its Chief Operating Officer since April 2012. Mr. Lang served as the Executive Vice President of Arch Coal Inc since April 2012 until April 23, 2015. He served as an Executive Vice President of Operations of Arch Coal Inc. since August 2011 until April 2012. He served as a Manager of Arch Western Resources LLC since August 2011. Mr. Lang served as Senior Vice President of Operations of Arch Coal from December 11, 2006 to August 2011. He served as the President of Arch Western Resources LLC from June 27, 2005 to December 2006 and also served as its Principal Executive Officer. He served as the President and General Manager of Thunder Basin Coal Company since 1998 until 2005. He served as President of Western Operations at Arch Coal Inc. from June 27, 2005 to December 2006. He also served as President of Powder River Basin Operations at Arch Coal Inc. from 1998 to 2005. Mr. Lang joined Arch in 1984 and had served as General Manager of Arch's Powder River Basin and southern Wyoming operations since 1998. He had held various engineering, operations and management positions at Arch's operations in both the eastern and western United States. He served as a Director of Arch Coal Inc. since February 2014 until October 7, 2016. He served as a Director of Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc. since August 2013 until June 20, 2017. Mr. Lang graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1983 with a B.S. in mining engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in several states.
