Mr. Randall J. Erickson, also known as Randy, J.D. serves as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Risk Officer at Associated Bank, National Association, Associated Banc-Corp, and Associated Trust Company National Association since April 2012. Mr. Erickson is based in Milwaukee and is responsible for the overall direction, leadership and results of the corporation's legal and government relations functions and legal regulatory affairs. This includes serving as Associated's Secretary and Secretary to the Board of Directors, accountability for goals and strategies related to legal risk management and government relations and a concentrated focus on corporate board matters and governance. Mr. Erickson has 28 years leadership experience to Associated. He served as the Head of Securities Practice Group at Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. He served as a Corporate Secretary - M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank from June 2002 to April 2007. He served as the Chief Administrative Officer of at Marshall & Ilsley Corporation from April 2007 to 2011 and its Senior Vice President and General Counsel from June 2002 to 2011. Mr. Erickson served as the Corporate Secretary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation from June 2002 to April 2007. He served as a Vice President and Secretary at Metavante Technologies Inc. until December 2007. Mr. Erickson served as a Vice President and Secretary at M&I Capital Markets Group LLC and M&I Ventures L.L.C. and Vice President of SWB Holdings Inc. He served as the Secretary at M&I Private Equity Group II, LLC. Prior to joining Marshall & Ilsley in 2002, Mr. Erickson served as a Partner at Godfrey & Kahn, where he worked closely with M&I from September 1990 to June 2002. He began his legal career at McDermott Will & Emery LLP in Chicago. Mr. Erickson served as a Director of Renaissance Learning Inc. from July 2009 to October 2011. He served as a Director of Metavante Technologies Inc., M&I Community Development Corporation, M&I Investment Partners Management LLC, Milease LLC, Metavante Corporation, M&I Capital Markets Group LLC, M&I Bank FSB, a subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation, SWB Holdings Inc., M&I Ventures, L.L.C. and M&I Capital Markets Group II LLC. Mr. Erickson is admitted to the bar in the states of Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota. He is also involved with youth activities in the Mequon-Thiensville Basketball Association and the Cardinal youth football program. He is a Member of the Lawyers Council of the Financial Service Roundtable, the General Counsels Group of the American Bankers Association and the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. He serves as a Director of the University of Wisconsin -- LaCrosse Foundation and University Wisconsin-Milwaukee Education School's Board of Visitors. He served as Director of Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation. Mr. Erickson served as a Director of the Wisconsin Bankers Association, the Mequon -- Thiensville Education Foundation and Milwaukee Ballet Co. Mr. Erickson is a Member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Wisconsin Law School where he lectures on mergers and acquisitions and related topics. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1984 and his bachelor's degree cum laude from the University of Wisconsin -- LaCrosse in 1981.
